f365: Day 333

Day 333 of the photo blog, but just day 2 of parenthood. Jenn had a very tiring day, but is much better today. As a keen photographer, many people expected me to have probably taken about 500 shots by now.

The truth is we are both tired, elated and extremely grateful for all the kind words of support, whether it is by text, Facebook, email, phone or in person.

Expect to see many more photos of Jonathan before this project is out as I have heard they change fairly quickly in appearance after the first month or so.

Today's shots include one of the both of us, one of him having a nap, and one of him having his first bath - a very stressful event for the wee mite!

f365: Day 332

The biggest day of the year for us, in fact probably the biggest day of our lives! Also one of the longest days we've both ever experienced.

We welcomed Jonathan Christopher Green into the world today. Even though he was a week early, he took his time making his first appearance into the world.

It started at 1.30am this morning with Jenn's labour starting. We were at hospital not too much long after and after several painful hours of contractions, Jenn had an epidural. That took the pain away for most of the day. Finally at 5pm, he was on his way.

He was born at 6.37pm tonight and weighed in at a pretty hefty 4.3 kgs, or 9.6 lbs in the old terms (and 51 cm long). Here is a photo of him (he had some initial monitoring due to fluid in his lungs but he is fine now), as well as one of him and his mum Jenn.

I am now off work for two weeks, but it promises to be very interesting.

f365: Day 331

Took a shot of our murrayn hedge today as because of the recent rains, it has come into flower. As well as being visually interesting, the smell is great too (actually it masks the doggie lawn accidents quite well!).

f365: Day 330

Another sign Xmas is fast approaching - Santa hats strewn throughout Woolies. In fact, who would have though the "product placement department" would think to link Santa hats with cleaning products?

Anyway, shot of the day one of those bizarre although topical ones...

f365: Day 329

They say that autumn has pretty colours, but the Brisbane comes alive with colour in spring. Sep/Oct sees the purple in the jacaranda trees. Now there is a lot of red around (I shot one of these plants the other day).

Here is a lunch spot I often go to next to the Brisbane River in Newstead. Some nice colours coming through!

f365: Day 328

Bruce loves the smell of yoghurt in the morning....Especially when he's been invited to lick the lid, or better still, clean up a pot that we've finished with.

It generally involves a lot of slobber and is never a clean affair. Today shots show him in action and the aftermath.

365: Day 327

It's been a very relaxing day on the home front. Have been kicking back and enjoying the cricket on TV. I also did an under exposed shot of the nursery with particular emphasis on the starry curtains Jenn has intalled.

Check out today's shot of the completed nursery.
