We caught up with our friends Mark, Tracy and Sue on Saturday morning and had an excellent brunch at a place called Hello Sunday.
Afterwards we went for a walking tour with Mark and Tracy around the city centre and could see a lot of positive rebuild occurring.
Our trip also included a visit to Orana Park, plus a day trip over to Akaroa.
Finally, we checked out the "Cardboard Cathedral" which is actually pretty good and has become a focal tourist point given the main cathedral is in ruins.
Enjoy the shots!
(Below): We stopped by at the crematorium - one day Jonathan will learn about his late aunty
(Below): Some group shots at Hello Sunday where we met for brunch Saturday morning. It was lovely to see Mark, Tracy and Susan again!
(Below): Another re-posting of the Christchurch Cathedral. While it is a shame to see it in this state, it is a good example of how well HDR photographic techniques can work on crumbling architecture with lots of detail and textures.

(Below): This spot turned out to be excellent for some family photos. Personally like photographing graffiti, provided it is tasteful enough
(Below): Selection of photos from Orana Park. The gorilla enclosure was very good
(Below): An HDR image looking down onto Akaroa Harbour. I decided to reduce the colour in this effect

(Below): The "Cardboard Cathedral" which is just a couple of years old but evidently very popular
(Below): The Tannery, a shopping centre in the suburb of Woolston. Reminded me a little of the QVB Mall in Sydney, although much smaller!
