With all the news about Corona Virus circulating around, I am finding photography a good distraction.
I got lucky last night with the sunset over the Story Bridge here in my home town of Brisbane. The light was initially a bit flat and muddy then as the sun set, some amazing colours came out.
Enjoy the shots!

Brisbane Sunrise - Captain Cook Bridge - Mar18
There are some excellent spots around the Captain Cook Bridge for sunrise shots over our beautiful city. After covering myself in bug spray (the mozzies are pretty tenacious around here) I set out with the camera, filters and tripod.
While not the best morning light (the sunrise was obscured by a layer of cloud on the horizon), I'm reasonably happy with these. Enjoy!

Wellington Point Sunrise Shoot - Jul17
I went back to Wellington Point which is on the bayside, or about a 35 min drive from our place.
I did some early morning shots here about a year ago, but had poor light so I returned only to get stunning colours and a beautiful sunrise (very lucky!).
There were a few other photographers here enjoying these near perfect conditions.
Enjoy the shots, and as always, click on each image to enlarge.

Australia Day in the Backyard - Jan17
Jan 26th marks Australia Day, the official National Day of Australia. As it is summertime, many celebrate by catching up with friends, family and/or having a BBQ or swim at the beach.
We had a delicious BBQ for lunch and then sampled the Eton Mess dessert I made.
Later in the afternoon, we did some family shots in the backyard. Jonny and Bruce played together for some time - Jonny loves squirting Bruce with the hose and he enjoys chasing it.
Also included is one of our hens posing for the camera. Enjoy!

Xmas Holidays With Mum & Dad - Dec16
Mum and Dad are staying with us for a couple of weeks. Time flies as it has been four years since I had Xmas with them.
They are enjoying catching up with us (plus having the warm Brisbane climate) and they also are having plenty of time with their grandson Jonathan.
Below are pictures from the last couple of days. The latter ones were taken with my studio lighting set up plus the black back drop.
Finally Jenn and I took pictures of the dogs which included me trying to get shots of them catching treats (copying another photographer). These are very tricky to execute, but learnt one or two things!
Merry Xmas and all the best for 2017 everyone!
