Our first stop was Lao Valley State Park in the western side of island. Some excellent mini bush walks as well as the "Needle" (refer picture).
We then drove for 2-3 hours, climbing 10,000 ft up to the Haleakala Volcano. Some incredible views up the top but it was like crossing a few climatic zones going from tropical to cool oceanic.
This evening we caught a nice sunset at Ka'anapali before tucking into a meal at Dukes restaurant. I am pictured wondering how I'll polish off the generous serving of "Hula Pie" (I managed it in the end, but waddled back to the hotel afterwards).
