We all went down to Melbourne for a long weekend - the main reasons were for me to run the Melbourne Half Marathon, plus spend time with Chris and Jacinta (my brother-in-law and sister-in-law).
We find Melbourne a very walkable and photogenic city. Much of our focus was on the street art adorning the brick walls around much of the city.
We also went to the Melbourne Zoo which was very enjoyable and well priced!
Anyway, below is a selection of shots from the holiday. I generally also find short break times a good time to take more shots of Jonathan.

Lake Moogerah - Oct16
I went out to Lake Moogerah for a third time last night and again took some shots from my workmate David (who has a high end Nikon and is a keen astro photographer like myself).
We ended up taking most of our shots from a campsite on the west side of the lake as this offered a better perspective of the Milky Way. There was a bit of light pollution there in the background, although in some cases this offered some foreground lighting for us. In most cases, we used LED torches to 'paint' elements of the foreground.
The latter shots were taken near where we parked our cars - in some regards it was better around here as minimal distracting elements and light.
The very last shot was a potential nebulae or galaxy that we spotted - unsure what it could be, but interesting nevertheless.
As always, click on each image to enlarge.

Swell Festival - Curumbin - Sep16
We checked out the Swell Sculpture Festival at Currumbin Beach yesterday as it was about to wind up. It is kind of like Sydney's Sculptures by the Sea, but QLD style.
The skies were mostly overcast, but the rain held out, and managed to get a few snaps.

Brisbane Nordic Market Day - Sep16
The three of us checked out this Nordic market this morning. It was a beautiful day (around 25C) so while it didn't feel Scandinavian climate wise, it was fun checking out the market items.
Jonathan has been a bit crook lately, but perked up for his day out. Enjoy the shots!

Shorncliffe Jetty Dawn Shoot - Sep16
I caught up with some other photographers this morning as part of a Meetup group. Our job was to take dawn shots of the Shorncliffe Jetty which has recently had some major structural work done to it.
The light could have been better (there was an annoying band of cloud on the horizon which dampened the light), but still managed to get a few shots I am happy with.
As usual, click on each image to enlarge.
