Shorncliffe Pier Sunrise Shots - Jan22

It's been awhile since I have updated the blog (been quiet the last 12 months on the camera front)!

I was out at Shorncliffe Pier on Tuesday morning with a friend (Craig Preston) for some dawn shots of the pier. The conditions were a bit grey and muddy, but a few splashes of colour appeared.

All images shot with my Canon 5D Mkiv with a 24-105mm IS lens.

Woody Point Sunrise & HMQS Gaydurah Shipwreck - Apr21

 Another early morning photography project.

Today's assignment was to capture the pier at Woody Point (bayside suburb of Brisbane) at sunrise. I also had my drone with me so flew it over the nearby HMSQ Gaydurah shipwreck.

The shipwreck was an old gunboat which entered service in 1884. It was run aground in the 1950s to create a breakwater.

The light wasn't as spectacular this week with a thick band of cloud on the horizon meaning the colours were more muted, but still fun being about and good practice!

Nudgee Beach Dawn Shots - Apr21

It has been a long while since I have done some early morning shots (and sunset shots for that matter). I decided to dust off the camera cobwebs and make the most of the sunny weather and head to Nudgee Beach for some dawn light.

Nudgee Beach is less than 30 mins from home and is a great place to take the family (and dogs). The beach at low tide is wonderful to run around on. The tide has higher than I anticipated, but I still managed to capture some interesting light and silhouetted mangroves.

Lake Moogerah Astro Shots - Jul20

This was the first time Jenn and Jonathan accompanied me to Lake Moogerah.

I've been here a few times over the last 3-4 years and it rarely disappoints.

It was exceptionally busy there last night but the night sky was excellent. Enjoy the shots from our afternoon/evening there.
