A few years ago I was really into my Sydney Rock Pools project. I'd be up well before dawn and often drive up to 100 km round trip in order to get some early morning rock pool shots.
Sometimes the shots worked. Other times they were not so flash. The light can change unexpectantly and it make a huge difference (even if the composition is well thought out).
Anyway, three years later and I have decided to drag out the tripod, graduated filters and 24-70mm lens.
Last weekend I photographed Streets Beach which is an artificial beach overlooking our beautiful city.
Many of these shots have had an HDR effect added to them. It does boost the image somewhat, but I kind of like that style. It tends to really enhance the textures and details (e.g. the sand 'pops' out).
Enjoy the photos!
