I was up early the other morning to capture some colourful light at Nudgee Beach at low tide.
My initial concerns of excessive cloud cover did not ruin the morning with some good light poking through at the right time!

Xmas Family Studio Shots - Dec18
It's been awhile since I have played with my studio lights and backdrops.
We had a full house this Xmas as we were looking after our friend's two beagles Bronson and Wicket. However with a bit of persuasion and treats, we managed to capture all family members at least in one of the shots!
Enjoy the photos and all the best for 2019!

Lake Atkinson - Sep18
This might be my last astro shoot for the year before the Milky Way is in a less optimal position. After photographing at Lake Moogerah numerous times, I decided to check out other locations within a 1.5 hour drive of Brisbane.
Lake Atkinson, about 1 hour west of the city, is a naturally forming lagoon across the Buabara Creek. There is quite a lot of bird life around here, but it also offered an excellent spot for star gazing and astro imaging. While not being as dark sky as Lake Moogerah, it made a nice change.
Enjoy the astro images - a couple are vertical panoramas stitched in Lightroom.

South Island Family Holiday - Aug18
The three of us crossed the Tasman and had a lovely 8 days in Christchurch with my parents, and then did our first campervan trip. This included a long drive down to Wanaka, then we continued on to Queenstown.
Plenty of stops were made along the way. Highlights included a day trip to Glenorchy, plus driving around Lake Wakatipu.
It was also nice to see Mum and Dad and spend time with them.
We were very active on the photography and drone front. Included in these images are some astro shots I took on the Port Hills one night (a bit too much light pollution but not too bad), and early morning shoot at the Christchurch Pier as the sun came up, plus a day trip to Christchurch's Orana Park. Also shots from locations around Queenstown.
Enjoy the shots!
