f365: Day 196

They say that gum trees should not be planted too close to households as they have a propensity to easily drop large branches making them potentially dangerous.

The gum tree itself is from the eucalyptus family and widely spread throughout Australia. Evidently they are called gum trees as they dispel sap from any break in the bark.

My parents had one in the yard growing up in NZ and I am a bit of a fan of them. I took this shot at lunch time around the base of one - I like the textures and patterns in this.
